Hear is our prayer letter on the theme of Thanksgiving.
The LORD is my light and my salvation.
The Gospel means good news: “Christ died for our sins…was buried and rose again the third day ….” (I Cor. 15: 3-4). It expresses God’s love, but is wrapped up in His grace. This is the message that we share and you make possible. We never cease marveling how the Lord guides you to pray for us and provide the necessary funds. There have been changes that had to be made to enable us to cut the expenses; but the load has not decreased and there have still been many people set free by the Lord. We have known that we could not do it, but God has set many free.
Many hours have been spent in discipleship counseling, speaking and mentoring. The variety seems to characterize this ministry. God’s grace causes wonderful results to happen. We praise the Lord for how gracious He has been; and we thank you all for sacrificing to provide the needed support. One day we will fully know and understand what God has done.
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found was blind but now I sec.
‘Twas grace that wrote my name in life’s eternal book.
‘Twas grace that gave me to the Lamb who all my sorrows took.
Grace was enormously expensive for God. Yet there’s nothing we can offer to pay for it. Any concept of grace that makes us feel more comfortable about sinning is not Biblical grace. God’s grace never encourages us to live in sin; on the contrary, it empowers us to say No to sin and Yes to Truth.
The question is not what arc we to do and not do, but is God pleased and magnified. It is not about us; it is all about Him.
It has been a tremendous privilege to sec what God has done by His grace. We will never fully understand the grace of God. “May the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you” (I Pet. 5:10).
Many have a deep longing for a more intimate and personal relationship to the God of grace. God has always expressed His grace through the ages; but now grace reigns. He is more ready to express His grace than His judgment.
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (II Cor. 9:8). “To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved (Christ) ” (Eph. 1:6). We need to praise the Lord abundantly for His wonderful grace.
Grace is God’s favor to those that deserve loss, but put their trust in Him. However, where there is pride, there is no room for grace.
Charles Swindoll says: “There is a compelling call to accept the grace that has been freely given, to enthusiastically embrace and carefully protect the freedom it provides, and to experience the joyful and abundant life that God desires for us.”
Martin Lloyd Jones shares: “What I am interested in is not what I was but what I am, and I am what I am by the grace of God.” Christ became poor so that wc might become eternally rich. This is the high cost of grace.
Here are some gems from Charles Stanley: “You can work a lifetime to be good and perfect and not be any better off than when you first started…Jesus sympathizes with us and identifies with our weaknesses, our fears and our anxieties…He never said, be perfect to receive my salvation. Salvation comes to us one way–by the grace of God. While He does discipline us, God never rejects us for performance…Stand strong in His grace. Receive His help. Relax in His acceptance. Bask in His compassion. The God of grace is with us.”
God’s grace is amazing because it is free. He bore the cost of our sins; therefore, it is not cheap grace. God’s grace is amazing because it is limitless. His grace can never be exhausted. Regardless of the vilest or number of our sins, God’s grace is always sufficient.
Grace is not about God lowering His standards; it’s about surrendering to Christ and allowing Him to meet those standards through us.
It is hard for us to realize that all that we are, all that we have and all that we will ever be is because of God’s grace.
God’s standards of holiness are not lowered under grace; they arc raised (Matt. 5:20-22; Gal. 5:4).
Grace does not make believers less holy; it enables them to be more holy.
Grace never causes believers to despise and avoid truth; it causes them to adore and practice truth. Grace does not lower the bar; it enables us to jump over the bar.
You guessed it! Our hearts arc really thrilled because of God’s love for us and His GRACE toward us. We arc still looking forward to gathering with all you loved ones in Heaven, where they’ll not be any limit of space or time. We love you all and try often to pray for you. Satan docs not like what is happening in this ministry; but God is being praised. Please continue to pray for this ministry.
Love in Christ,
Paul and Joyce

Blessed new year to each of you!

Posted October 27th:
There is a very popular holiday occurring this Friday. Please pray for our meeting this evening at 6:30. We will be speaking at an informal presentation on the Spiritual Realm along with a Q & A afterwards. The enemy doesn’t like to be exposed and we’ll be sharing the truth on the unseen world with a church in Asheville, NC. It is the church our president of the ministry attends and it is at his request. We covet your prayers for a hedge of protection around all who attend as well as an openness to hear the truth. Also, for clarity of minds as to what to share; we have enough material for a two-day seminar!
Thanks so much for caring and praying,
Paul & Joyce

Much thanks to all of you who partnered with us in prayer for our event this past Monday where we spoke of the spiritual realm. It all went well; just not enough time to present everything. There were questions and comments at the end and some stayed over to chat some more.
A few days later we had a call from one of the participants and she wanted to come and share with us. It was very evident that the Lord orchestrated her even being there on Monday. God is so very good to His children.
Thanks again for your friendship, your partnership and your prayers.

We wish you a Joyful Christmas.
Can you imagine living during the four hundred silent years between what is recorded in Malachi and Matthew. Some have called this “the silence of God.” There was no prophet heralding the message of God and no anointed Scripture that shared God speaking to mankind. Yet, at the appointed time, the angel of the Lord said to the shepherds, “Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy… for there is born to you… a Savior who is Christ the Lord.” I Tim. 3:16 states, “Great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh.” Col. 2:9 says, “In him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” God has given to us His precious Son; He is Jesus, the Faithful One.
The confidence we have; the trust we hold and the hope we carry rests in His faithfulness. Every promise He has made He purposes to fulfill. He has the authority to accomplish all He has spoken. His power is limitless; His character is changeless. And His love is endless.
Wow, no matter how confused this world is, Christ the Faithful One can solve our many problems and set us free. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth; and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32)”. Verse 36 continues, “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” This is our message; and this is our ministry. We praise God and thank you all for your prayers and support.
The opportunities have increased, not diminished. The Lord knows what it costs to continue helping people and leading them to freedom; and this includes the crowns on our teeth and the tires on our cars. We praise the Lord for His marvelous provision for combined 400,000 miles on our two cars, with only the usual minor maintenance. Even the service people marvel, praise the Lord.
We would like to have you see and experience the freedom and joy that has come to so many in their going through the Steps to Freedom. This, one day may very well be rehearsed to the glory of God.
We wish you a most blessed Christmas—a time that will be very meaningful to you, with the Lord’s blessing upon you and your family. Your prayers and support for this ministry has been much appreciated. God only knows what really has been accomplished for eternity. We believe this year has been very fruitful. What you have done has made this possible. We appreciate and love each of you and wish you a very Happy New Year!

Dear Family & Friends,
Though things around us seem to test our faith, we have the joy of the Lord in our hearts.
WE WANT TO WISH YOU A VERY JOYFUL CHRISTMAS.
When we think of the word “adore”, which comes to our minds especially at this Christmas time, we wonder: “What does adore mean?” It was something that we thought we knew, but have given it more thought. When we looked in the Bible, we didn’t find it. “Adore” was not in the English text. The Dictionary says: “to regard with the utmost esteem, love and respect, to pay divine honor to; worship.” Another source said: admire, glorify, praise,
Looking elsewhere we found the words: respect, esteem and magnify. It means to worship. Our greatest joy comes when we worship the Lord. Another source used the expression “to bow down before, to kneel before and to idolize.” As we think of all these expressions, we need to ask ourselves, “Are we truly adoring Him, or just doing things? Is our busyness preventing us from enjoying real worship, adoring Him? Some of our greatest moments of worship are in the quiet stillness when thinking of the awesomeness of our Lord, and asking ourselves, “Who are we to capture His attention?” The words from Psalm 46:10 remind us, “Be still and know that I am God.” Also Isaiah 30:15 comes to mind, “In quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” Let us all make sure we allow nothing to prevent us from adoring Him always.
When we minister the “Steps to Freedom”, we are directing people to be still, think, let the Lord speak to them.. Our surrounding prayers are always for the Lord to prevent distractions and interferences that would prevent hearing the voice of God. When referring to our ministry, we describe it as leading ones to do business with the Lord. This ministry continues to keep us busy. Please pray that God would grant us added
Here’s updates on our family “in a nutshell.” Tommy & Logan live in Colorado Springs; he is employed at the Broadmoor Resort. Josh recently returned from Haiti doing work with NC Baptist Men’s Missions and liking it so well that he wants to return. Anna & Brett are being sent from Destin FL to Colorado Springs CO with the U.S. Air Force – they are really excited about this.
Heather in the entertainment world has been working in productions out of Myrtle Beach SC going to Chicago, Las Vegas, Niagara Falls for short term shows. Cameron will be graduating from NC State next May with a degree in Environmental Tech Management. Heidi will also be graduating from No. Greenville U. with a degree in Outdoor Leadership. Kara is in her senior year of home schooling. She enjoys her violin, ballet classes and is in The Nutcracker Suite at our local Flat Rock Playhouse. She is currently checking out a few colleges that emphasize mission work. Bailey is finishing her sophomore year excelling in her classes as well as volleyball and looking to be in missions. She was in the Homecoming Court at East High this year. We are so very proud of each one of them.
Thank you for your important part in this ministry. Please continue to pray that the Lord will do a great work in the lives of those with whom we minister. As we near the end of this year, we have great financial needs. Most of those receiving help seem to be unable to contribute to this ministry. Many of our faithful supporters have lost part or all of their
income, which affects their ability to give. We are trusting the Lord to provide and to enable us to be available so that He can lead more believers to freedom. Praise the Lord, we have seen some real transformations! We praise the Lord for what has been accomplished and thank you all
We send our warmest wishes for a most Blessed and Merry Christmas,

“A bended knee, a bowed head are signs of submission – to the will of the Father”
JESUS CHRIST LIVES AND IS SOON COMING AGAIN
The death of Christ and His resurrection are seldom viewed independently. They are connected and give each other their meaning. God so loved you and me that Christ died for us. The message of the Cross is love, God’s immeasurable, amazing love. The love of God sent His Son to earth in human form and placed Him on a cross.
Why should it be thought incredible that Christ should be raised from the dead? If there is no resurrection, then life loses all of its meaning, and it becomes a hollow mockery. I Cor. 15:14 states: “And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and our faith is also empty.” However, Christ was raised from the dead and He lives today.
The greatest demonstration and display of God’s power happened at the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In fact, in Eph. 1: 19-20 Scripture uses four words for power to describe it. The apostle Paul prays that we may understand:
“The exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.”
God will not permit man to forget that he is over all. We should be reminded of this every time we: look at the calendar, draw up a will, dictate a document, buy a car, get a receipt, make a bank deposit, write a check, pay our electric bill, sign a contract and collect or pay rent. God cries: A.D. he sets the date (the year of our Lord).
Flower seeds that have been hidden for two thousand years in an ancient tomb in France, immediately came to life when planted. Also on June 4th, 1844 garden peas that were idle three thousand years, were planted and came forth. It would be very incredible if Jesus Christ, with His power, could not rise from the dead. BUT HE AROSE!
Up from the grave He arose, with a mighty triumph o’er His foes; He arose a Victor from the dark domain, and He lives forever with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose! Thinking again of God’s great power, let us remind ourselves of all the expressions of power that surrounded the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The veil of the temple that was rent, the rocks that were rent, the opening of graves, and the great earthquake. We certainly need to humble ourselves as we remind ourselves of the mighty power of God and what He has done for us. It has been said that the only way we can know the dynamite of His power is to get on our knees in praise and prayer. Redemption was accomplished when Jesus cried on the cross, “IT IS FINISHED.”
We give praise to God and to a dear friend for enabling us to post an active website, that we will be developing more and more at http://www.freedominchristcarolinas.org. God has allowed us great opportunities and keeps us very busy: teaching in a conference in TN, counseling by phone, working on the new book, preparing for teaching and coaching at the Knoxville Practicum and all the discipleship counseling and freedom appointments –taking people through the Steps to Freedom. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS, WE REALLY NEED THEM. HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY,
Paul and Joyce Travis
